Smart Business Security FAQ
We are committed to providing the best security and we know when it comes to your business, employees, and assets that you likely have a few questions.
That’s why our local experts have compiled our most commonly asked questions and put them in one convenient location for you.
How long is the monitoring contract?
We offer Canadian, professional monitoring without a long term contract. By providing month-to-month contracts we continue to earn your support by providing extraordinary customer experiences from our local experts. Your experience means more to us than hidden fine print locking you into a contract.
Can I view my security system or cameras from a phone?
Yes, you can connect and control your business security system from anywhere. Not only can you arm and disarm or view video, you can also set up helpful notifications. Some systems can connect with automation devices such as your lights and locks.
Do I need a landline for security monitoring?
You don’t need a landline, however a monitored system needs to have some form of communication with the monitoring station. We offer cellular communicators that can send the information.
If my business moves, can I take my alarm system with me?
Yes – your system belongs to you but we can help you move it (if you need us to). We would ask you to consider the space you are moving to and to remember each building is unique and may require different devices, solutions or quantities.
How much does a security system cost?
It depends. Enhancing security for your business might look like a CCTV system, secure door entry, alarm system, cell transmitters, an alarm system or an alarm system that you can maintain and manage all from your phone. It could also look like all of those solutions combined.
There isn’t a one-size-fits-all solution for protecting your business, employees and customers. Our alarm experts would be happy to discuss you, your business and your unique needs then design a custom solution tailored to you and your preferred security investment.
Will installing security cameras or an alarm system reduce my insurance?
Typically yes – many insurance companies set their rates based on their level of risk. In other words, what is the risk the insurance company will have if your business is the target.
If you have an alarm or surveillance system, savings could be significant but we always suggest contacting your insurance company to be certain.
